One summer day a while back, the artist Jonny Arnold and I went to the tweed to collect driftwood that covered the beaches with so much beautiful arty things that we could barely find a path or any walking room across the sand.
We gathered so much stuff, burned timber tree parts from the recent bush fires, and logs and fencing. All sorts of things. Two of the pieces I found just felt right together and I used real gold leaf to edge the wood and created "Angel." A crew weeks later, a lovely lady and artist came to my studio and said "OOOOh I love your Uterus art piece" and Angel was renamed "She (Uterus)" and I entered her in the Lethbridge Small Art Prize along with a little painting and both made it in to the finals.
